We had fun working on identifying the number of syllables in our name with the poem, Turkey Lurkey. Click on a picture to take you to the website to view our talking turkeys. Ask your child to show you how to clap, snap and tap to find out how many syllables are in their names.
Click on each picture to maximize it so you can get a better look our graphs on “How many syllables in your name?” We graphed each child’s name after listening to each talking turkey .
Challenge! How many syllables in cornucopia? Ask your child to tap out the number of syllables in that Thanksgiving word.
The turkey ties turned out great! They made a great display in our hallway. The children loved showing off their families to everyone. We are in the process of making classroom books from the turkey ties. The children love to read our classroom books.

We found a new song that we loved at school this past week. It is by Steve and Greg and it is called the Beanie Bag Dance. I have a lot of beanie babies, so I got them out, and we followed Steve and Greg’s directions as what to do with our beanie babies. Do you have a bean bag or beanie baby laying around the house. If you do go get it and ask your child to show you how he/she can follow directions. Click on the song title below the picture.
Bean Bag and Beanie Babies start with the letter Bb. I know we will be playing this song a lot as we are working on the letter Bb this week. I also have another Bean Bag song that I will be playing for the children. Check back later this week to watch and move along to the video.
Everyone had a great time at our Halloween Parties. Here are the Smileboxes from that day.

I have enjoyed seeing all the Family Monsters the children brought in. Everyone was so excited to share their monsters with their friends. I can tell that you all put a lot of thought and work into creating your family monsters. Great teamwork everyone!
Besides the family monsters you will see the the children enjoyed being the illustrators of the green monster from the book Go Away Big Green Monster. They were busy creating their visual representations of the green monster at the art center, the paint easel, and electronically on the tablet.

We were very exited to have a visit from Dr. Bonezzi this past Wednesday. Dr. Bonezzi talked to us about Jerry the Germ and how he and his friends like to party in our bodies. Dr. Bonezzi talked about how we should cough and sneeze into our sleeves or a tissue, wash our hands, eat good healthy foods and get plenty of rest to keep our bodies strong. Thank you Dr. Bonezzi!
